Opening Sequence for Citizen Kane

The opening shot in Citizen Kane (1941) shows the sign "No Trespassing." The camera then trespasses onto Charles Foster Kane's estate and into his bedroom where we hear his final word, "Rosebud." A reporter then trespasses into Kane's past as he searches for the answer to the question, "What is Rosebud?"

In the opening sequence of Citizen Kane (1941), the camera moves through Charles Foster Kane's estate and into his bedroom. The sequence ends with Kane saying his last word before he dies, "Rosebud."
