Ballot Box Bunny

by Nicholas Sammond

Ballot Box Bunny is a political Warner Bros. cartoon in which Yosemite Sam runs a violent campaign for mayor against his challenger Bugs Bunny, who gets involved in the race when he hears Yosemite Sam promise to rid the town of rabbits. Note Warner Bros. use of political references, such as to Theodore Roosevelt's line that "I speak softly, but I carry a big stick!", a sentiment which WB extends to its violent conclusion. Note also the continued use of Bugs's penchant for crossdressing.
