Union Sundown - Bob Dylan

by Brian ORoark

Trade is all about taking advantage of what you do better than someone else.  These comparative advantages lead to a reallocation of production resources.  Bob Dylan seems to find the outsourcing of jobs to other countries to be a bad thing, and for union members it is.  However, this dismisses the reality that low cost labor is the comparative advantage of some places.

I agree with Bob on this issue. It does take away from American jobs, even it underdeveloped countries. For less pay and more hours, it's not fair to the American workers who are able to do the same jobs here.
