The King of Queens: Health Care - Does pricing indicate quality?

by Matthew Rousu

Doug buys Carrie laser eye surgery for a birthday present. When the surgery doesn't got as well as planned, Carrie becomes upset when he finds out Doug used a coupon. This clip can be used to introduce health economics or pricing as a signal of quality. Doug turned down a higher-price place to buy his wife a cheaper surgery. Also, this is a classic example of price discrimination, as Doug uses a coupon, while others pay full price.
