Beauty School Dropout (Grease the Musical)
by Matthew Rousu"Beauty School Dropout" serves as an excellent starting point when discussing the labor economics concepts of human capital, returns on education, and even licensed professions. Within the lyrics, the Teen Angel suggests that Frenchy goes back to high school since she has no chance of achieving a beauty school diploma. The Teen Angel ultimately has Frenchy's future financial success in mind - if Frenchy accepted the Teen Angel's advice and returned to high school, she would be better off monetarily in the long run as high school graduates earn much more annually than high school dropouts.
