Edison and Attractions

by Kate Fortmueller

Many of Thomas Edison's shorts featured single performers (often from vaudeville shows, circus acts, etc.). These performances were not documented because they were examples of high art, but rather mass entertainment. As you consider your short film for CTCS 200, think about what kinds of performances would draw contemporary viewers? (You might want to consider popular YouTube videos as you think about this question.)
