This is the third scene from BOSTON LEGAL that pertains to my research on representations of "bromances" in film and television. This recurring scene--Alan Shore (James Spader) and Denny Crane (William Shatner) conversing on the balcony of their law firm--is arguably the most intriguing of the show as it is here, amidst noticeably phallic cigars and sometimes the discussion of women, that most of the couple's uninhibited and multifaceted affection for each other is displayed.
