The insertion of this wordless sequence into the "Final Cut" of "Blade Runner"—a portion of it first appeared in the "Director's Cut"—hints at the possibility that protagonist Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) could actually be a replicant, not a human. The dream sequence is achieved through changes in lighting, color temperature, shutter speed, and sound, and stands a symbolic window into Deckard's mind (or lack thereof).

Blade Runner (Scott, 1982) — Unicorn Dream

Deckard's full unicorn dream did not make it into the theatrical cut of "Blade Runner," but it is one of the distinguishing elements of "The Final Cut."
