Sleeper Cell titles
by Critical Commons Manager `

The tagline for the first two seasons of the Showtime series Sleeper Cell give away the show's post-9/11 conceit, simultaneously exploring with relative nuance the activities within a terrorist cell based in Los Angeles and provoking Americans' worst fears of terrorism:"Friends. Neighbors. Husbands. Terrorists;" then "Cities. Suburbs. Airports. Targets." The intercutting of the iconography of war, religion and Arabic language and culture with imaginary ideals of white suburban America offers painful justification of the Bush administration's policies in Iraq and the middle east.
