Pillow Talk opening split screens

by Critical Commons Manager

The narrative premise of Pillow Talk is established through these scenes of Rock Hudson and Doris Day using a party line. The anonymous interactions between them are highlighted with triple split screens sequences showing simultaneous actions in multiple locations. The 'V' shaped composites seen here are reminiscent of Lois Weber and Phillips Smalley's Suspense (1913).
