The virtuosity of Glen A. Larson

by Critical Commons Manager

Not only was Glen A. Larson a prolific creator, producer and imitator in American television of the 1970s and 80s, he was also a singer-songwriter whose first foray into show business was as a member of the singing group The Four Preps. Larson went on to write the theme song for The Six Million Dollar Man heard in this clip, sung by Dusty Springfield, over the episode's absurd ending, which includes a nuclear explosion seen in stock footage that is supposed to be happening a few hundred yards away from our protagonists who continue to carry on a conversation laden with Cold War sexual innuendo and poorly executed eyeline matches.
