Moonraker titles

by Critical Commons Manager

Before the title designers for James Bond movies had access to digital effects, it was necessary to use high contrast optical printing to turn women's bodies into graphical elements to adorn the films' title sequences. Maurice Binder elevated these effects to an art form through repetition and also repeating his own visual aesthetic in film after film. Note that, once digital effects were in use, very little changed about the contents of James Bond title sequences, they were just rendered through different technological processes.
