The persistence of Cold War Soviet-bashing

by Critical Commons Manager

This composite scene from Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol offers a variation on the classic TV series' mission delivery system by embedding a retinal scanner in a Soviet era Russian pay phone. What makes it funny is that the device delivering the high-tech retinal scan technology malfunctions when attempting its own self-destruct sequence, a Cold War-style slam against Russian technological incompetence.
