Kinetic typography and 21st century learning

by Critical Commons Manager

This motion graphics and kinetic typography treatment of John Seely Brown's 2012 DML keynote demonstrates the power of simple text and graphics to enhance the viewing experience of a documented speech. In addition to the visual elements, Ben Brazil's score telegraph's the video's intention to be inspirational and monumental, while the seemingly low-tech graphics signal the DIY ethos of the digital media and learning field - a vast, but much more labor intensive improvement over the screencast format or simple video documentation. How much reverb is just the right amount to make a speaker sound wise and authoritative before the effect begins to feel manipulative?
