Human computer interface via typewriter

by Critical Commons Manager

In this episode of I Dream of Jeannie, "The Girl Who Never Had a Birthday," two NASA astronauts use a supercomputer to calculate Jeannie's (Barbara Eden's) birthday over two thousand years earlier. It takes ERIC over an hour to compute an answer based on celestial information and other limited input via an electric typewriter interface. The computer delivers its answers via long strips of paper resembling a ticker-tape.
