Gestural interface in Gamer

A teenager controls a human avatar via a transparent gestural interface and a "mod" allowing direct voice communication between player and avatar, highlighting the differences between a consequential physical world and virtual one. Released in 2009, Gamer anticipated the commercial release of Microsoft's Kinect (originally Project Natal), a camera-based gestural gaming platform by less than a year.
