At 0:09, this clip shows the only matte shot on record for this production, serving as Amy’s POV. The worksheet for the shot indicates that the matte was necessary to present a whole bridge that matched those portions built for various shots. As with most of Val Lewton's productions for RKO, the modest budget for The Curse of the Cat People meant that only a small amount of optical effects work could be demanded from the Camera Effects Department's busy schedule.
