Latinopia Art Letters to Siqueiros

2012 marks the 80th anniversary of the unveiling of the mural,"America Tropical," painted by Mexican muralists David Alfaro Siqueiros in 1932. The mural was later whitewashed because of its controversial imagery. The Getty Conservation Institute and the City of Los Angeles have, together, spent $9.9 million to conserve the mural and make available for public viewing. To commemorate the installation the new viewing platform and interpretative center at Olvera Street, three Chicano muralists wrote and read "Letters to Siqueiros" telling him of the influence of his art on their work.This video was produced,is owned and copyrighted by Barrio Dog Productions Inc. and is posted on vimeo and Latinopia.com by permission
