Sergei Eisenstein Montage

by Evan Sarafian

This clip is an excellent example of Sergei Eisenstein's signature use of montage in his works. The rapid fire switching back and forth between shots of the gun and of the shooter mimics gunfire. This mimicry of actual gunfire reinforces the already disturbing scene of a shooter firing into an innocent crowd in a way that would not be possible with a single shot.
