Plight of the peasants

by F. Bailey Norwood

I've heard historians talk about how the enclosure of the commons in 16 and 17th century England and conversion to private property allowed investments that resulted in the first agricultural revolution of the modern age, but I've always wondered about what happened to the peasants kicked off the land. This film is suggested they were indeed trapped into poverty, and I didn't know there were prohibitions on begging.
