The Bourne Trade

by AdrianFohr

Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) is desperate to find a ride to Paris so he offers $10,000 to a stranger for a lift. He is aware that she needs the money but she is reluctant to take him up on his offer. Intuitively, she understands adverse selection. He doubles his offer and, perhaps against her better judgement, she agrees. This scene can be used to teach: Consumer Surplus, Producer Surplus, Gains from Trade and Adverse Selection
