Good Intentions in Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog

by AdrianFohr

Penny is seeking signatures to turn a condemned building into a homeless shelter. She sings to passersby: 'Only need to sing your name, don't even need to read it.' While this is a good strategy for Penny to take, it would probably be irresponsible for others to sign a petition without reading it. This is true because sadly many institutions which are intended to help the poor actually end up hurting the very people who they are intended to help. Good intentions are not enough, to actually do good a philanthropist needs to learn to think like an economist.

Penny for the Poor

Penny, the love interest in Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, is out gather signatures for a petition to which would turn a condemned building into a homeless shelter. She works for a nonprofit called Caring Hands.
