Economic Intuitions and Training

by AdrianFohr

'Your eyes can deceive you, do not trust them.' This phrase is remarkably similar to Frederic Bastiat's counsel on learning economics, found here: 'How will I know the good from the bad?' 'You will know when you are calm.' This is very likely correct. It can be difficult to be calm when studying economics, since sometimes our findings will have political ramifications. However, we must remain calm so that we can tell the good economics from the bad. More here: 'You must unlearn what you have learned.' This statement just generally reflects that fact that many economic misconceptions are widely publicized.

Intuitions, Economics and the Force

Compiled here are several instances of Jedi Masters training Luke Skywalker. There words are surprisingly relevant to the study of economics.
